The Journeys We Offer

Three passages, each with its own character

Afternoon sail Penang

Southern Penang Half Day

Three hours · Small groups of four to six

A three-hour afternoon sail from the southern tip of Penang Island, departing from the Teluk Kumbar fishing village area. The yacht heads south past Pulau Jerejak — formerly a quarantine island with a layered history — and into the quieter waters between Penang and the mainland. Tea service includes scones, local kuih, and chilled lemongrass tea. The pace is deliberately slow.

The mainland hills change colour as the afternoon progresses. One simply watches.

Kendi Island snorkeling

Kendi and Rimau Island Day

Full day · Islands southwest of Penang

A full-day excursion to Pulau Kendi and Pulau Rimau, two small islands that remain largely unvisited. The yacht anchors in clear, sheltered waters between the islands, creating a private base for the day. Morning activities include snorkeling over a rocky reef where butterflyfish and moray eels are commonly seen. A full lunch is served on deck: char kuey teow, grilled fish, and fresh tropical fruit — Penang flavours in a maritime setting.

The afternoon is unstructured: swim, read, photograph, or simply rest.

Overnight passage to Pangkor

Penang to Pangkor Overnight Voyage

Two days, one night · ~60 nautical miles

A two-day, one-night passage from southern Penang to Pulau Pangkor, covering approximately sixty nautical miles along the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Dinner is a seated affair at anchor — grilled lamb, roasted vegetables, and local desserts. The following morning brings Pangkor's Dutch fort ruins and fishing village. Cabins are thoughtfully appointed with reading lights, fresh linens, and ensuite bathrooms.

All meals, crew, and equipment included. The sea does the rest.

Why Guests Return

Notes from a decade on the water

Routes That Mean Something

Every itinerary is chosen for character — islands with history, reefs worth swimming, coasts that repay attention.

Meals Prepared With Care

Local Penang ingredients, cooked fresh on board. Char kuey teow, grilled fish, and desserts that taste of the region.

Small Groups, Quietly Run

We keep numbers small by preference, not policy. The sea is better when shared with fewer people.

Questions We Often Hear

From those planning their first time at sea

Do I need sailing experience to join?
None whatsoever. Our crew handles all sailing and navigation. Your role, if you choose to have one, is to watch the water change and decide when you would like more tea.
What happens if the weather is unsuitable?
Safety comes first. If conditions make a departure inadvisable, we will contact you in advance and work together to reschedule. The Malacca Strait is generally calm, particularly during the November to April period, but the sea makes its own decisions.
How far in advance should I enquire?
For weekend departures, two to three weeks is helpful. For the overnight voyage to Pangkor, a month gives us room to arrange provisions and cabins comfortably. That said, we will always try to accommodate a more immediate enquiry if the schedule allows.
Are children welcome on board?
Children who are comfortable around water and can follow safety instructions are welcome. We ask that families with very young children consider the half-day journey as a first introduction. Life jackets in suitable sizes are carried on board.
What should I bring along?
Light, comfortable clothing, sun protection, and a camera if you wish. Snorkeling equipment is provided for the Kendi and Rimau day. For the overnight voyage, a small bag with a change of clothes and any personal items you prefer. We supply towels, bedding, and meals.
Can we arrange a private departure for a special occasion?
We would be glad to discuss a private arrangement — anniversaries, quiet proposals, small family gatherings. Write to us with what you have in mind and we will consider how it might be shaped.
